How is our data kept separate from other customers'?

The separation is enforced in the database, not in the interface. Every row of customer data carries its organisation, and the database applies row-level access rules so that a query only ever sees rows belonging to your own organisation. This means the separation holds even if a fault were to occur in the application code — the query cannot reach another organisation's rows, because the restriction sits beneath the application. Which organisation you belong to is derived from your sign-in and cannot be influenced from the browser.

Is traffic encrypted?

Yes. All traffic to the portal and to sign-in uses HTTPS with automatically renewed certificates. The portal is not reachable without encryption.

Who can see our report data?

Users at your own organisation, to the extent their permissions grant access to the report type. Sigill staff hold technical access to the operating environment, which is necessary to run and troubleshoot the service. We do not access customer data except where needed to resolve a case you have raised, or where we are required to.

Where is our data stored?

Report data is stored on our own servers in Stockholm, Sweden. It is not hosted with a third-party cloud provider, and it does not leave the EU. Sigill.tech is operated by Fyrvest AB, company number 559032-5220, registered in Sweden. The processing and our sub-processors are described in the privacy policy at sigill.tech — that is the binding description, and this article is a summary of it.

How long are our reports kept?

Reports remain in the portal for the duration of the agreement, so that you can return to earlier periods and use them as a starting point for new ones. Sealed reports never change — the institution's details are frozen at sealing, so a report from an earlier period shows what applied then, even if the details have since changed.

How do we get our data out?

Two ways, and you do not need to be leaving to use either. At any time, yourself: every report can be downloaded from the portal with Generate, and tables can be exported to Excel. Nothing about your reports is locked in. As a complete export: email support@sigill.tech and we will send your organisation's reports as a zip archive. If you are terminating, ask for the export before the agreement ends. Terms for deletion are set out in the agreement and the privacy policy.
